It’s the most wonderful time of the year…It’s time for our Holiday Book Swap, a.k.a. our Family Book Exchange! A few days ago, I had everyone pick names from a stocking and choose a book for that person. Last year, we had a theme: Give a Books in which Gifts are Given in Secret. This year’s theme? Simply, make your reader happy!
We’ll also be making additional readers happy. We’ve donated several kids’ books to a local holiday drive! If you’re looking for a place to make a difference in the life of a reader, a great place to make a monetary donation is the Childrens Book Bank!
So, which books have we ordered for everyone’s #holidaybookswapgoals?
For Blaise, because it was on his list this year, and because, Etrog!
Sorel Etrog: Five Decades by Ihor Holubizky
For Bea, because these are some of her favourite writers:
My True Love Gave to Me: Twelve Holiday Stories, various
For Toby, who’s become really fond of long division and word jumbles:
Entertaining Mathematical Puzzles, by Martin Gardner
For Roseanne, because the cookbook list is long this year:
Dorie’s Cookies, by Dorie Greenspan
And, yes, I’ve now had a chance to look at it. And it’s AMAAAAAZING! I can’t wait to make my way through it over the holidays!
