We’ve made a pact. This year, any time it snows, we are going to put bowls out on the back porch to collect the snow for ices and ice cream. Our most recent triumphs have included elderflower ices or icees and a snow ice cream made with sweetened condensed milk.

Elderflower Ices
Ingredients
- Elderflower Syrup
- Fresh Clean Snow
Instructions
- Place a cup or two of snow in a large cup or mug
- Add elderflower syrup by the teaspoonful [to taste] and stir to combine
- Eat it with a spoon or scoop into a paper cone or cup if you dare!
