We’ve made a pact. This year, any time it snows, we are going to put bowls out on the back porch to collect the snow for ices and ice cream.  Our most recent triumphs have included elderflower ices or icees and a snow ice cream made with sweetened condensed milk.

Elderflower Ices made from Snow

Elderflower Ices

Ingredients

  • Elderflower Syrup
  • Fresh Clean Snow

Instructions

  • Place a cup or two of snow in a large cup or mug
  • Add elderflower syrup by the teaspoonful [to taste] and stir to combine
  • Eat it with a spoon or scoop into a paper cone or cup if you dare!

 

The Best Snow Ice Cream Recipe

The Best Snow Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Fresh Clean Snow

Instructions

  • Place 6-7 cups of snow in a large bowl.
  • Pour about 1/4 of a small can of sweetened condensed milk over the snow and stir to combine.
  • Add additional sweetened condensed milk by the large tablespoon and stir to combine to taste.
  • Serve in a bowl.
