It’s time for our Annual Tree Trimming Party!
Tonight, we have grandparents in from out of town, so we get to trim our tree with them! Yippee!!!
It’s time to….
Drink Cocoa or Cider with Cinnamon Whiskey!
Make Favourite Photo Ornaments!
Watch The Holly and The Ivy and A Christmas Carol!
Never Roasted Chestnuts Before? Here’s How…
Heat your oven to 425.
Slice an X on the flat side of each chestnut with a chestnut knife or another sharp knife.
Place chestnuts X-side up on a roasting pan.
Roast in the oven for 30 minutes or until soft.
Cool chestnuts slightly and remove shells.
If necessary, reheat before serving.
How do I make Cinnamon Whiskey Cider?
Heat 1-2 cups of cider with 2 cinnamon sticks per guest.
When cider is good and heat, remove from heat and add 1-2 shots of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey per guest.
Add 1-2 shots more for good measure.
Pour and serve.
This beverage is also good served cold, on the rocks.
What are Favourite Photo Ornaments?
Each year, we print a small black and white photograph of each of the kids labeled with the year the photograph was taken.
We place it in a small clear plastic frame strung on a silver sparkly ribbon.
They are always the last ornaments we put on the tree!
And, they are gorgeous!!!
This year, we will have twenty-two favourite photo ornaments for our tree!!
Here’s a link to the original DIY.
And here’s last year’s installment.
