Bea’s Catching Fire birthday party is coming up, so we thought we’d get working on the Party Favours. A few years ago, Blaise and I made the kids some beautiful bookplates for Christmas. They’re still well-used and well-loved! So, we decided that we’d whip up a fresh batch of bookplates for Bea’s party guests. We scoured the web for a few key images, two Mockingjays, a bow and arrow set, and a lovely drawing of a potential Katniss wedding dress by designer and illustrator Tex Saverio. Then we manipulated these images quite a lot and dolled them up in black and white using the wealth of tools on the free online photo editing website: ipiccy. We added text to each image and then printed them out in batches of 6 on 8.5X11 full sheets of white sticky-backed paper. We’ll cut them to size and package them in clear bags with gold and red ribbons. The idea is for the girls to add their names to the bookplates in their own best handwriting (oh, cursive, cursive, please!) and then to colour them in with their fanciest art supplies.
Below, we’ve posted full-size images that you can copy and manipulate to your liking (as long as you don’t try to pass them off as your own or sell them for ready money!). Again, we printed each of our images in batches of six on full sheets of white sticky-backed “label” paper.
