Word on the Street, Canada’s Book & Magazine Festival, has got to be one of the most awesome events held in the city of Toronto [and across the country] all year long!
WOTS!
WOTS?
What’s better than a park full of books and magazines and book and magazine people? Personally, I can’t think of much….
This year, the kids made a return trip to the festival to do their own kind of wandering. They ran into some of our friends in publishing as well as some of their own school friends. They visited booths where they introduced themselves to new authors and new books. They spied some of the own favourite titles and authors. And, they hit some of their fave tables and book vendors from years previous [think Spacing and Owlkids].
Here are just a few snapshots of their experience!
Planning the trip, and passing by a story about a boy who turns into a cat – wondering, “Could that happen to me?”
Browsing in the Book Mobile, and practicing a book talk in the empty Star Tent.
The Brick Books Display…Hmm…A Familiar Title by a Certain Grandfather in the background…[hint, look for the golden GG-nom seal]
