Stuffed Animal Candids: Photo Cards for Overnight Camp, Birthdays, or Just Plain Fun

Stuffed Animal Candids Photo Cards
Because my oldest is only getting older, this is probably the first and only year I’ll be able to get away with this…and so I’m doing it proudly.

With her class, Bea’s going away for a few nights to an awesome camp up north. She opted to take an alternate stuffed bear than her normal, at-home companions, which was great.  Still, I wanted to find a way for her to keep her special friends with her without missing them too much.  Also, I wanted to send her a few “love notes” of my own.  With that in mind, I snuck into her room while she was at school the other day and took a few “candids” of her best stuffed friends. Then, I used some free online photo editing software [my current faves are ipiccy and fotoflexer] to add some fun text to the images. I tried to keep it upbeat – not so much the “We miss you” tack as the “Have a great time at camp,” “Hope the zip-line is fun” and “Snuggles for you” one – the kind of support she’ll appreciate.   Then, I printed out the images on 4×6 photo paper and, when she wasn’t looking, snuck them into her bag beside her favourite new novel.  If I end up doing this again with the kids, I might put the stuffies in some more interesting and humorous poses! This might also be fun for birthday cards and holiday gifts – maybe with little hints as to what’s inside the box!

I’m not going to post the actual pics I sent with her, but here are a few similar examples to get you started on some candids of your own:
